What is Composite Bonding?
Composite bonding is a cosmetic procedure where a tooth-colored resin material is applied, shaped, and hardened with a special light to improve the appearance of a tooth. It is a minimally invasive treatment that usually requires little to no removal of natural tooth structure.

Composite Bonding Treatment Process
Consultation and Assessment
The dentist will firstly examine your teeth and gums by taking X-rays to examine your oral health. You will also discuss your goals, in terms of shape, colour and size, before selecting a shade to match your natural teeth.
Tooth Preperation
Before the composite bonding is placed, the tooth surface will be slightly roughened. This will allow the composite bonding to sit on top of your natural teeth seamlessly.
Bonding
Firstly a tooth-colored composite resin is applied to your natural teeth in layers. The dentist carefully shapes and sculpts the resin to achieve the desired look. A special blue curing light is then used to harden the resin and bond the material securely to the tooth. Final adjustments are then made to the shape and the bite of the composite bonding, before the tooth is polished to create a smooth, natural shine.
Follow-Up Appointment
A few weeks after bonding, a follow-up appointment allows the dentist to check over the composite bonding to ensure you are happy with the results and to make any minor, necessary refinements.
