What is Implant Crown and Bridge Restoration?

An implant crown and bridge restoration is used to replace one or more missing teeth by attaching a custom-made crown or bridge to a dental implant.

The implant is surgically placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root, providing a stable and long-lasting foundation.

Once healed, a crown (for one tooth) or a bridge (for multiple teeth) is secured to the implant, restoring the appearance, function, and strength of natural teeth.

The Treatment Process

Getting a implant crown or bridge usually requires two to three visits to our clinic:
Initial Consultation & Preparation

Firstly our dentist will examine your teeth, taking X-rays, to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for an implant crown or dental bridge.

The advantages and disadvantages of each are carefully and openly discussed, so that you are well-informed on every aspect of the procedure before making your decision.

An impression, or mould, of your mouth is taken before being sent to a trusted dental laboratory to create a bridge custom-fit to your mouth.

While this is being made, a temporary crown or bridge may be placed to protect your teeth and gums.

Once your permanent crown or bridge is ready, our dentist will carefully fit the restoration, ensuring to adjust it for comfort, before secruing it in place.

Once it is placed our dentist will check your bite to ensure everything feels natural and secure. Where changes need to be made, the restoration is sent back to the laboratory and then fitted at the next visit. It can sometimes take several visits to get the best possible result.

A few weeks after placement a review appointment is required to check the restoration.

During this appointment, our dentist will take a final X-Ray in order to check the fit is still comfortable and secure. They will also examine the cleanliness of the implant crown or bridge.
