What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a discreet orthodontic treatment that uses a series of custom-made, clear aligners that gradually straighten teeth over time. The clear aligners are discreet to wear and easy to take out when you need to. They also provide results in as little as 6 months, depending on the complexity of your case.

Invisalign FAQ's

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Most Invisalign treatments take 6-18 months on average, but more complex cases require more time.

You may feel slight pressure or mild soreness for a few days when switching to a new tray, but this is usually manageable.

It is recommended that the aligners are worn for 20-22 hours a day in order to achieve the best results, although this will be highlighted in your personalised treatment plan.

You might have a small lisp for a few days, but most patients adjust quickly.

Yes you can. You remove your aligners to eat, meaning there are no food restrictions.

Yes, although only water is recommended. As drinks such as tea, coffee, and sugary drinks can stain or damage the aligners.

Invisalign aligners are easy to clean. Simply use lukewarm water to brush them gently, as well as Invisalign cleaning crystals or tablets when needed.

The Treatment Process

The Invisalign treatment process usually follows a clear step-by-step path, with a number of visits to our clinic.
Initial Consultation

Firstly our dentist will examine your teeth and bite, taking X-rays, to determine whether you are a suitable candidate and Invisalign can treat your case effectively.

A 3D digital scan and impression of your teeth are taken to create a precise model of your teeth. This will also help to design your treatment plan and provide you with a before-and-after of your results.

The dentist will provide you with a customised plan, which will include details on your treatment length and how many aligners you will need to achieve your desired results.

You will receive a series of custom-made aligners based on the impressions that were previously taken. The dentist will provide you with instructions on how long they should be worn for, how to clean them and when to change them.

As per your treatment plan, regular check-ups with the dentist will allow them to check progress, make small adjustments if needed, and provide you with your next set of aligners until the process is complete.
